The Event Detail view is the main public page for one JEM event. It combines the event schedule, content, images, venue, categories, custom fields, registration information and available actions in one place.
JEM 5.1.0 Beta 4 This version adds the separate Event intro/list and Event full/detail image workflow, configurable detail-image layouts, age classification, event timezone display and a simplified frontend editor with an optional Advanced mode.
Do not confuse the two Advanced controls. The Advanced button in the frontend event form only reveals additional editing fields. The global Operating Profile: Advanced in JEM Settings enables completed advanced JEM capabilities across the component. Neither control replaces Joomla ACL.
The page is normally opened after a visitor selects an event from a list, calendar, map, category, venue, type page or JEM module. Administrators can also create a direct Single Event menu item.

Event Images JEM 5.1.0 Beta 4
An event can have two different image roles. This avoids using one image for incompatible list-card and detail-page layouts.
Event intro/list image
The primary event image used by event lists, cards and the associated Joomla article intro image.
- Default upload resolution: 1200 px.
- Default ratio: 16:9.
- Used as the detail-page fallback when no separate full image is assigned.
Event full/detail image
An optional image prepared specifically for the Event Detail page and the associated Joomla article full image.
- Default upload resolution: 1920 px.
- Default ratio: 16:9.
- Can use a different layout from the list image.

The recommended global maximum for new event images is 2560 px. Larger source images normally add processing, memory, storage and bandwidth costs without improving the displayed Event Detail page.
Venue Information
If the event is linked to a venue, the Event Detail view can show the venue name, address, city, county or region, country, image, website, custom fields and map information. The exact output depends on the visitor's access, the JEM Event Page and Venue Page settings, the selected layouts and the available venue data.
In JEM 5.1, the event and venue blocks can use full or compact presentation independently. Venue capacity, spaces, areas and scheduling information are available only when the corresponding Advanced-profile capabilities and data are present.
Recurrence and Event Series
Event recurrence creates related occurrences from one event and a shared repeat rule. It is useful for weekly classes, monthly meetings and seasonal programmes. JEM can generate the dates and preserve the relationship between the original event and its occurrences.
When an event belongs to a recurring series, JEM can display indicators that distinguish the first event from generated occurrences.
Registration
If registration is enabled, eligible visitors can register, cancel within the permitted period, request one or more places, join a waiting list or manage an existing registration according to the event configuration.
Recurring events can allow registration for one occurrence, the series, or both. Capacity and age-access rules can further restrict registration even when the event remains publicly visible.
Recurring Event Indicators
The first event and its generated occurrences may be visually marked so visitors and administrators can identify their relationship.
Editing from the Frontend JEM 5.1.0 Beta 4
When the current user has the required Joomla/JEM permission, the Event Detail toolbar can display an Edit event action. The same form is used to create and edit frontend events.
The Image tab belongs to the default editor. Selecting the Advanced button does not enable the Image tab. It reveals the optional resolution and aspect-ratio controls inside that tab, together with other advanced event fields.

Advanced Button in the Event Form
Selecting Advanced expands the current form. The selection is stored with the event form mode so an editor can return to the preferred presentation.

The administrator selects the operating profile in Components → JEM → Settings → Global Parameters. This is separate from the frontend form button.

The Images settings and the frontend Image tab are not exclusive to the global Advanced profile.
Frontend Actions
Depending on configuration, item state and permissions, the Event Detail toolbar or content can provide:
- Print or PDF output.
- Email or share actions when enabled by the site.
- Export to iCal / ICS.
- Edit or copy the event.
- Edit the associated venue.
- Open a map, online meeting, associated article or structured external link.
- Register, cancel a registration or manage booked places.

Access and Visibility
An event is displayed only when its publication state, publication dates, access level, category permissions and relevant age-access rules permit the visitor to see it. Venue access can reduce or suppress venue information independently.
Seeing an event does not automatically permit editing or registration. These actions require their own Joomla/JEM permissions and event conditions.
Troubleshooting
