[solved] ics file and Google calendar - CONFERENCE and X-ALT-DESC
ics file and Google calendar - CONFERENCE and X-ALT-DESC
2 days 12 hours ago
My objective is to enable users to subscribe to upcoming events/import ics files in mailbox.org, ICSx5, Outlook and Google.
Regarding Google calendar: JEM 5.0.1 and also 5.0.2 beta 1 2026-10-19 ics files can not be imported - message is: Imported 0 out of 0 events. Unable to process your iCal/CSV file. Subscription does not work - there isnt any error message.

I attach the original JEM 5.0.2 beta1 and the Gemini-recommended file to this post. The later can be imported into Google Calendar. The main culprit behind the "0 events imported" error was indeed thetag (and sometimes the complex HTMLCode:CONFERENCEproperty) generated by that specific iCal exporter.Code:X-ALT-DESC

Thank you for the sample files.
The refreshed JEM 5.0.2 Beta 1 and JEM 5.1.0 Beta 4 packages include an ICS export change. With Add Online Meeting to ICS Description set to Yes, the meeting link is included in the plain-text description, and the exported file contains neither CONFERENCE nor X-ALT-DESC. Please check this setting, as an updated installation may retain its previous value.
Please download the refreshed package from the beta downloads page:
www.joomlaeventmanager.net/download/beta-versions
export a new ICS file from the same event, and test Google Calendar file import and subscription by URL separately. If either still fails, please send us the newly exported ICS file and, for the subscription problem, the calendar URL (privately if needed).
The focused export tests pass, but we need your results in Google Calendar before considering the issue resolved.
Thank you for testing.
