The PDF button is already configurable globally by frontend view. No CSS override is required.
Go to: Components → JEM → Settings → PDF → General
On the right-hand side, use the PDF buttons enabled on multiple-selection field:
1. To enable PDF buttons generally, select all supported views.
2. To enable them only on specific views, select only those views.
3. To hide the PDF button on event detail pages, deselect Event.
4. Save the JEM settings and reload the frontend page.
This is a global setting per view. Deselecting Event hides the PDF button from every event detail page; it cannot currently be configured for only one individual event.

Thank you.
It works, as long as I do not want to disable all of them. This seems not possible – after saving they all are activated again.

Thank you for confirming this. Now, I see it.
You were right: the previous explanation was incomplete.
When all views were deselected, JEM treated the empty selection as a missing configuration and restored the complete default list after saving.
This has now been fixed for JEM 5.0.2 and JEM 5.1.0. An empty selection is stored correctly and disables the PDF button in all JEM frontend views. Selecting only specific views continues to work as before.
Fix in this commit:
github.com/jemproject/JEM-Project/commit/62f658ae8dd1841ffe4d36de2b06b1c45723515c
Apply only the admin/models/settings.php file.
The correction will be included in the updated beta packages. You have a new refresh of beta versions with this commit, download from:
