In mod_jom_teaser of JEM 5.0.1 RC4, description parameters have no effect

Hello,
It seems that "Show 'Read more …' Break", "Show More Information" and "Show More Information Title" has no effect anymore in JEM 5.0.1 RC4. "Show description" works correctly but if the description is too long, I can't get a link or a button to open the event (regardless of the status of "Link to Event on Title").

I tested these Teaser parameters on JEM 5.0.1 RC4 and I think I now understand what is causing the confusion.If your intention is:show a shortened event description in the Teaser and then give the visitor a link to the JEM Event, you need to add a real Read More break to the event description.In the event editor, place the Read More break where you want the Teaser text to end.Then in the Teaser module use for example:
  • Show description: Yes
  • Show 'Read more …' Break: Link
  • Link to Event on Title: Yes or No, depending on whether you also want the event title linked
The separate Read More link will still open the JEM Event when Link to Event on Title is disabled.One important detail is that Description Length does not create a Read More link. It only truncates the text.So if, for example, Description Length is set to 100, JEM can shorten the description after approximately that length, but that truncation by itself does not create a link/button to the Event.
 More Information
Code:
Show More Information
is a different feature. It does not link to the JEM Event.It works with an associated Joomla article.To use it:
  1. Edit the JEM Event.
  2. Select an associated Joomla article.
  3. Set Associated article usage to Information.
  4. In the Teaser module enable Show More Information as a Link or Button.
  5. Enable Show More Information Title if you also want the associated article title in the action.
I tested both paths locally with Playwright:
  • shortened intro without a Read More split → no Event Read More link;
  • genuine Read More split → Event Read More link works;
  • associated Joomla article + Information usage → More Information Link/Button works;
  • More Information Title also works.
So I don't currently see a broken Teaser parameter, but I do think the current parameter names/help text make the distinction quite difficult to understand.There is also one possible enhancement here: if the desired behaviour is automatically add a link/button to the Event whenever Description Length truncates the text, the current Teaser does not appear to provide that behaviour. That could be useful as a separate option.
