Switch off email after edit event

Hi,

I use Joomla 6.1.3 on our website with JEM calender. (version 5.0.1)
After editing an event I get every time a mail that the edit was succesfull.
How do I turn off this (mail) function ?
In older versions of JEM calender this never happened.

This is related to the JEM Mailer plugin

In JEM 5.0.1 the Mailer configuration has been redesigned. The new configuration uses notification profiles and, with the default profile, notifications for editing an event can be enabled for the submitter/editor and the administrator.

So this can explain why you now receive an email after editing an event, even if you did not see this behaviour in an older JEM setup.

You do not need to disable the complete Mailer plugin.

Please check:

System → Manage → Plugins → JEM Mailer

Then look at the Event submission / Event edit notification settings.

If you do not want the person editing the event to receive a confirmation email, disable the notification for:

Submitter / Editor

If the administrator should not receive an email either, also disable:

Administrator

Other Mailer notifications, for example registrations, can remain enabled.

I checked the JEM 5.0.1 Mailer configuration and the event-edit notifications are indeed enabled in the current default notification profile, so the behaviour you describe is consistent with the Mailer settings rather than Joomla 6.1.3 itself.

It may still be worth making this change in default Mailer behaviour a little clearer in the JEM documentation, because it can be unexpected for users coming from an older configuration.
