[FR] images upload etc. Integration of Filepond or media manager?

Maybe for in the future?

currently there is an imagehandler that can be used to upload image for example in eventview. Or select from already uploaded images

In case of clientresize and other options it might be very usefull to use a script like filepond for uploading.  

Perhaps making use of the default joomla media fields might also be usefull.

Something to consider is if you want to have general images or image per event or both.

 Have a image section. Upload images. Store to that event. After save have it displayed in section images or use it with something else. 

or image and photo's.
Add option of table-image, detail-image etc.   And display in detail-view the photo section. Maybe with slider etc.



 

This is a good feature request, but it should probably be split into two levels. For the current single event/venue/category image workflow, integrating Joomla’s Media Manager may be the safest and most future-proof improvement.

FilePond would be more useful if JEM introduces a real image/gallery workflow per event or venue, with multiple images, client-side resize, ordering, captions and different image roles such as list image, detail image or gallery photos.

Now, I would not replace the current imagehandler. I think that you can open for this FR, I think that there is a issue about it.

Now it's better to run tests on JEM 4.5.0 (J5) and JEM 5.0.0 (J6) to produce some release candidates and publish the releases this month. Stabilize the details and close as many of the found bugs as possible. That is the focus; we will leave new feature requests open as issues on GitHub for JEM 5.1.0, to prioritize them when the time comes.
