Hi all,
Are there solutions for integrating JEM with VirtueMart or any other shopping cart? In other words what if registration is needed for *payed* events?

In the forum archives I only found this topic , but it doesn't really answer the question. The suggestion to use Breezingforms is not helpful because it's not about getting extra user information.

The principal issue is to connect/expose the events from JEM as products in the shopping cart extension. As it is now, each event need to be added as a product in the shopping cart which is obviously double work and not a good solution. In addition, each JEM event need to be provided with a link to the corresponding product.

Has anybody tackled that?

Not yet, but this is a good idea for JEM on Joomla! 4, where we can expose JEM API. Will suggest to the JEM working group for inclusion on road map.

I did with Virtuemart exactly what you described.
And Yes it's not a satisfying solution as it's more than double work.
- create a Virtuemart product using JEM event description
- using VM category product module or VM product module inside JEM event page to be able to "buy" the event

But it works...
