Import issue eventlist to JEM

Recently ordered JEM, because of an update from Joomla 2.0 to 3.8
after some fiddling I managed to import all 2700 old events from eventlist to JEM.

One problem I cannot resolve: after the import JEM does not recognise the old category(only one exists).
Because of that, in the module view, no events are shown although i set it to show all events, regardless of categories.

When I manually open any event, and select the category and save it, it does show up in the module.

In the database, all catid's are set to 1

Can somebody help?

how did you import?

imported with phpmyadmin, first added additional fields.

well we are and were away for some days.
there are better ways to import events, categoories venues and carevents from eventlist to JEM. I don't remember exactly. but look in backend help and posts in ths forum. I would say, there is enough help around this way!
