Hello,
Today released joomla 3.7
I tried installing it on my test site and it looks like JEM is not working.
I can not create or edit an event (the HTTP ERROR 500 page will pop up). I do not have much time to explore it (I have to work), but before you install a new version of Joomla, you better try it somewhere and verify that everything works ...

I can't reproduce your problem, I just created a new event, with no problems.
I've not much time to search, where you could have your problem!
