Future publishing of events

Is there any way to create events that are not published immediately, but rather have a specific date they are published on.

As example, you want to create a full year worth of events, but you only want to show the events for the next month or 2 months. So even though the events are created, they will not be on display before a month before they will happen.

currently there is no possibility to achieve this feature.

But another question: Why should I do so? What is the reason to publish the events e.g. 3 monts later?
As early as published as longer the advertising for the event can be seen?

Well - why ? As I wrote in my question, I do actually have a use-case for not showing all events at the same time. You are right that the longer an event is there - the more publicity will it get. This is however not always what you would like.
A number of examples:

1. You are planning an event ahead of time and you want everything to be launched at a very specific time - Maybe coordinated with adverting events.
2. You do not want people to forget about your event, so you only want to have it public for 1-2 months before and not a year beofre.
3. You are planning 3 events of the same type, but want to ensure that the first event is full, before reveling that you will host an other one.
4. The longer the planning, the easier it will be for your competition to plan events that would potentially clash with your events
5. Pop-up events. Users will have to visit the site on a regular basis and stay alert in order to get to the great events.

I do not think that any of these use-cases are very unusual. It is also standard in Joomla, that you can publish articles and modules at a specific time out in the future.

If it cannot be doen now, I think it is a feature that should be added as an enhancement request.
