Hi Rafael,JEM 5 does support multilingual
event content, but it does not work by adding a Joomla language field to every JEM event or category. Therefore, those fields are not missing from the forms.The multilingual model uses Joomla’s native
article associations:
- Create the JEM event only once.
- Associate a Joomla article with the event.
- Set Associated article usage to Event content.
- Select which article fields JEM should use, such as the article title, alias, intro text, full text and metadata.
- Create the translations of that Joomla article, assign each one its Joomla content language and associate the translated articles with each other.
When the visitor changes the site language, JEM keeps the same event but automatically resolves the associated article for the selected language.This means that the event’s operational data remains shared:
- Date and time
- Venue
- JEM categories
- Registration and attendees
- Places and waiting list
- Recurrence and publication state
Only the editorial content is supplied by the corresponding translated Joomla article. Registrations and event data therefore do not need to be duplicated for every language.It is important to distinguish between:
- Additional information: the associated article is displayed as a separate link or button.
- Event content: the associated article supplies the event title, description and other configured content. This is the mode required for multilingual event content.
Joomla’s multilingual system and Language Filter plugin must also be correctly enabled. If an article for the current language is unavailable, JEM can use the configured fallback: the Joomla default-language article, the original JEM event content, or no article content.

Therefore, JEM 5 provides multilingual event content through associated Joomla articles. It is not based on duplicating the JEM event or assigning a language directly to every JEM category and event record.
