Errors adding attachments to recurring events

Errors adding attachments to recurring events

2 months 4 weeks ago
#33230
Hi everybody,
I have problems adding attachments to recurring events (pic #1)

after pressing Save either it says "Item saved", but the attachment is missing (pic #2)

or it says "Save failed with the following error:", but the error description is missing (pic #3)

Adding the same attachment to a normal (non-recurring) event works fine.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Marco

Ciao Marco,
I can reproduce it, but I do not get any error.
What did you do to get thte error (without message)? With the error we can catch the problem in the log file –  this way it is easier to identify the problem..

Hi Hekla, thanks for support.
Actually, I don't do anything special, just picking up a pdf file and pressing "Save" on a recurring event I get the error.
When you say
I can reproduce it, but I do not get any error.
does it mean that the attachment is actually saved? Because even if it says "Item saved" the attachment is missing (see my pic #2).
I'll set up an user profile for you to test in my staging site, I'll provide you the credentials via private message.
In the meantime can you please be so kind to tell me where to find the log file you mentioned?
Thanks!

Hi Marco,
I can reproduce that the attachment isn't saved. In my case it happens all without any error notice or error log entry.

To turn on the error logging: in the Joomla admin dashboard (in Italian: Pannello di controllo) go to > System (sistema) > Global Configuration (Configurazione globale), there choose the tab "logging" (Log), set "Log Almost Everything" (Log di quasi tutto) to yes, and right above you see the path to the error log file "everything.php" on the webspace, usually it is in the directory /administrator/logs/

And yes, feel free to send me the credentials to the staging site.

Well, believe it or not, now "red" errors do not appear anymore!
Please find attached the everything.php file generated by the failed attempt.
I'm going to send you staging site and credentials.
