Upgrade to Joomla 6 breaks Event database
Upgrade to Joomla 6 breaks Event database
2 months 3 weeks ago
All events dissapeared when we went to Joomla 6. Had to restore from backup.
I see there is a Joomla 6 Beta, but this will only install into Joomla 6.
When Joomla 6 version is available will it be backward compatible for 5.
Thanks

From which version did you try?
In my case I updated stepby step and had to add some sql changings manually.

We are on 5.4.0 and tried at that level.
We lost all events even though they were in database, did not display in Front end and not accessible from inside Joomla.
Unfortunately, other admin restored before I could look much further and now reluctant to upgrade again as community site with lots of events.

Please do not uninstall JEM before the migration a Joomla 6.
The safest path is:
- backup
- update Joomla 5 to Joomla 6
- upgrade the full JEM 5 package
If events are still present in the database but not visible, the data is probably not lost; it is more likely a compatibility, menu, filter, or migration issue.
You should test the upgrade on a copy of the site and inspect the JEM tables and menu items before restoring or rolling back.
Did you do these steps?
Could you please specify the versions?
Starting version: JEM 4.x.x on Joomla 5.4.x
Target version: JEM 5.0.0 beta 4 on Joomla 6.x.x
Please replace the 'x' with your specific version numbers.
