This is my first experience with JEM. I installed JEM on a local server and am trying to understand how it works. So far I am impressed what I am seeing. Someone has obviously put a LOT of work into this component. There are some things that t don't understand. Also in reading the comments I like the idea of turning some fields off. Perhaps I can already do this as I am just now trying to get acquainted with how things work.
My intention is to display a mixture events both from venues like performance center, theaters and places that hold recurring events as well as personal events like Garage or tag sales (Not sure what they are called in other countries) but sales events where people sell personal items, clothing, furniture, toys, etc. from their homes. I do not need nor want to save a venue record for these as they are usually one-off. The same person at the same address my only ever do this once or perhaps once every few years. In this instance I would have a template with the venue field turned off and use custom fields for the address.. Hopefully I could assign a specific template to a particular category. Is that possible?
BTW the categories for this forum do not include "questions", which would be useful.
