thanks again. In fact: none of the yellow nor of the orange modules are loaded. In the old installation they are included. But how do I tell Joomla to use them?

If JEM works correctly, there is no need to tell Joomla or JEM to use them.
I suggest you download and install JEM 4.2 again and see if it then works.
