@Speedy & Bluefox: I think the misunderstanding is the word "calendar" as pseudonym for JEM.

right, did a clean install of JEM + JComments.
did change the setting of the "JEM comments plugin" and selected JComments but didn't change a setting within Jcomments. Did submit a comment underneath the event and the event is shown within JComments and when published it's shown. Have to say that i tested it under J3 but it should be working fine with JEM 2 too.
so no it's a matter to locate track down the bug/problem.
- are you testing local or at a real site? when local you could check the error log and see if the problem can be found there. or maybe it's a simple setting we're overlooking.

about sliComments:
it looks like that version is not supported anymore so would say not to add that option under the JEM comments plugin. (Did see the latest release was from Jun 2013 and that's more then a year ago). As JComments is fine and free it's the best option for the moment.
