Hi, Bluefox.
I was so happy when I found JEM, since I've been looking for a way to keep my archive of almost 3000 EL events when upgrading the site to J3.1.
I looked at the exported sample CSVs, made my own CSVs compatible, but still had trouble importing them.
I can go through phpMyAdmin, but since it is sort of a "bug", I thought I'd ask.
On a side note, I love what you guys are doing and would like to contribute by testing and possibly translating JEM to Norwegian.
Thanks.

After a lot of troubleshooting, I found out that the import function has really poor support for characters like æøå and other characters needed for my events. Is it hard to make the importer UTF-8 compatible? That would make my life SO much easier.Error parsing column names.
Are you sure this is a proper CSV export?
Try to export first to get an example of formatting.

Hello jojo.
Old events: Eventlist 1.0.1 on Joomla 1.5.15
New site: JEM 1.9.2.47 on Joomla 3.1.5
I've renamed the fields that are differently named and left any new fields blank, with an export of sample data in JEM as reference.
I have no problem importing CSVs if I remove all Nordic graphemes and letters with diacritics.

Thank you for more informations
It' just long time ago I had in german/french too the problem with special caracters. I found this in my post:
Special Caracters
when I convert exported CSV-File to UTF-8 without BOM (I do it with notepad++)
and import this file, then I get all my special caracters!
(My problem is not to know how to export from mysql that the CSV-File is automaticly in this format!)
I don't know if that helps, perhaps there are more tipps in previous posts.

@Kaape,.
Think we should make it easier to import.
So it will save the hassle for you and other users
There were also some problems with date/time.
Will take a look at it, soon.
did find a languagestring of EL, so will try some text of that one.
but perhaps you can give an example of what you're trying to import.
Greetings,
Bluefox
