Front end publish, unpublish and trash don't work for events

Thank you for your continued support, I do agree it's probably a permissions issue. The main difficulty I have with that is that joomla itself does not have jem specific permissions and that jem only seems to have group permissions and they do not have unpublish, trash or delete options. As per image of jem group permissions. I am happy to call this closed with the information I have so far.
