I think my question is answered by Wolfgang
But to be sure, my question is "Can Simplelist be tweaked to provide multiple, named pre-determined filter categories such as in the attached image (taken from another site)?"
These options could be as part of a dropdown or a checklist.
The issue with free text search is that searchers are unaware of our genres and cities (some regional ones are named, others not). We would like to show them what is available from a drop-down or check box display.
Sorry, I don't understand:
In my version there are populated filters for categories (see image)
on JEM 2.3.3 stable in latest Joomla (3.10.2) Protostar php7.4.15
Personally I use t4_B5 template with t4_system plugin framework with bootstrap 5 and fontawesome)
(I prefer free "Signal" or paid "Threema" instead of "Whatsapp".)
Thank you Wolfgang and Jojo. I had actually forgotten there were other views [menu options].
I think the reason I forgot is that when I installed JEM and tried the different menu options, the 'Search' option didn;t display as in the JEM demo. Instead my site returned the standard K2 search window (screenshots x 2).
Before I ask my developer to look into this, can anyone shed light on why my site might display the K2 search window when the menu item is definitely selected as JEM > Menu Type > Search?
The other menu JEM menu types all seem to work on my site.
