TOPIC: Share one JEM event manager on several sites

Share one JEM event manager on several sites 2 years 8 months ago #23536

I manage 4 joomla sites and would like to have one calendar manager to post on all 4 sites. Is it possible to share one JEM event manager on several joomla sites like maybe in a module wrapper.

Hi, I really don't have experience with that. Perhaps other users can help.

Today I had a meeting with at programmer on a similar issue:
I want to build a possibility how to display the JEM events from one site on other sites.
Could be possible with two plugins one for each site (if both sides are running on joomla) but we were also discussing other possibilities, so we can share JEM content with other platforms too.

We think of starting with the plugin "listevent" ( http://www.joomlaeventmanager.net/forum/jem-2-1-x-for-joomla-2-5-joomla-3-community-support/8624-feature-plugin-request-listevents ) making it work and then go further and develop a "cross site event sharing" plugin

We will see if this is going to be a fruitful project. It will take some time and if we succeed I will definitely let you know.

That would be great!

I was thinking of a scenario where events are entered on a JEM-powered site, and then shared on the site of the venue.

E.g.: There is a JEM-powered webite "what's going on in Amsterdam", and then all the dance clubs and other music venues can list their specific events on their own site.

You would need to be able to set some basic style elements like font size and color, background color, and list with in the plugin.
Are you thinking to display the list in a wrapper / iframe on the thirrd-party site?

Yes, that's exactly what I think — it would extremely powerful to have such an extension of JEM.

We haven't decided yet, how it will be embedded in the "guest" sites. I'm not sure about iframes, though it would be an easier way (I guess) and I'm not sure about using javascript neither …
What do you recommend?

And yes, definitely there must be a possibiliy for styling, at least via css, but it would be even better to control the whole html/css output from the "guest" site.

In any case:
suggestions, wishes and requirements are welcome – I'm not a programmer and my programmer is not so much into Joomla

Hi, because of you, I tried to import a simplelist with iframe in aa site, where I am not the developer and which isn't Joomla - a foreign CMS. Hey, and it works!!! Thank you very much. :cheer:
In JEM I am using ja_purity_iii and the responsive proposal of Egnarts and a little bit more in direction of bootstrap 3.
I have to say, that in smartphone it's not ideal, but can be used.

I inserted it with the codepage of the editor for an article.
