It looks like the tooltip classes are missing from your site template css.
some info: www.joomla-css.nl/en/styling-joomla-3-co...t-components/tooltip

I'm using JEM as Event Calendar in all my sites. Each Site is based on the Base Template from www.joomla-css.nl/en with own enhancements and styles.

Youth Band:
www.jumba.ch/index.php/termine
'Next Events'-Module on the main page
(JEM 2.1.5 / PHP 7 / Joomla 3.5.1)
Categories are used to distinguish the different groups.

Local Village Wind Band:
www.mv-bonstetten.ch/index.php/termine
'Next Events'-Module on the main page
(JEM 3.0.7 / PHP 7 / Joomla 3.5.1)
JEM 3.0.7 has been used, as JEM 2.x was not ready for Joomla 3

Chess-Club:
www.bluechess.ch/index.php/agenda
'Next Events'-Module on the main page
(JEM 2.1.5 / PHP 7 / Joomla 3.5.1)
Categories are used to distinguish the different groups.
