Hi, I want to know if you can have a link (menu Item) to the city of venue.
For Jem the venue representing a place where the event takes place. Among the parameters of the office there is also the city. If I want a link to the city that I see all the events that take place in that city you can?
Thanks for the support

hi AchLive,

Have to say that such thing ain't possible right now.

It is possible to have the eventslist-view (or any other view) limited to the city so the events listed will be based upon the choosen city but it will require some coding to be done. To make this happen the easiest thing would be to add an additional option in the xml of the view and then some code in the model/helper to catch the parameter.

Hi Bluefox , thanks for your reply.
I just need a view for the city as you wrote.

How can I do to have this feature? I do not know how and what to change in the xml file. This I think is very important and that can be very helpful to all users. I hope you can help me. Thanks for the support

Hi AchLive,

one possible but of course not ideal way but without code changes would be to create a category for each city and attach every event additionally to the matching category. Then you could create menu items with Single category view.
But if you change the venue you must also change the category - a lot of work to have it consistent, I know.

On the other site a city filter is also not easy because you must create a menu item for each city you have in all your venues. And maybe some of them are little villages. Technically it's no problem, just a bit or lot of work. ;)
There's already a state filter used by some modules. A city filter would require the same work for this different field. The most work is within the eventslist model, the rest inside the view files and a bit language file I think.

Compared with the ACL think I'm currently sunken into that's a very easy task.

well, maybe i'll take a look at it..

Not sure if this is what you want, but if you want to have some options to the eventslist-view then that can be done but it will be a personal-modification.

Basicly it's possible to add a "Venue" filter+city filter to the eventslist menu-item options. And i think it's even possible to show possible city's after a venue was selected but that might be a bit to advanced :)

Hi Hoffi , I have already thought about the solution you have proposed

I used this solution to a site that uses eventlist.
For Jem I thought that there was a different solution.
It seems strange that it was not expected because it is logical that a user searches for events in a city and not in a venue. A venue normally be subject to the city and not the other.
