Hi Forum,

So I've searched the internet and this forum for how to export EventList to iCal. I am either too blonde or searched wrongly, but I cannot find the place to activate that export. All ICS related functions (show button, timezone handling) are active and set, but no button or function anywhere in back- or frontend.
Any helpful hints most welcome. Thanks.

Cheers,
Stefan

@d20

So you did enable the option for the ical in the back, that would be the main-part. The ical should be in the bottom of Eventlist/categories & at the top of the event-page. so not sure what the problem is.

But if you're familiar with PHP you can edit the php page around (line 73), views\eventlist\tmpl\default.php

is this direct link working?
index.php?option=com_eventlist&view=eventlist&format=raw&layout=ics

if so the ical will work but there is a problem with showing it. The link should normally be shown when the param has been set in the back (options saved). This line in the default page is making the problems.
<?php if ($this->params->get('events_ical', 1)): ?>
(won't respond to PM)

Hi Bluefox,

Indeed, the direct link worked. If I remove the given if statement, the button is shown (obviously). It seems to me, that the globalparams do not get loaded in the view. But that's just a guess after a quick code review.

Thanks a lot,
Stefan

are the other settings working in that view?
filter/buttons etc.?

you can check what kind of params are loaded by adding
<?php var_dump($this->params); ?>
but be aware that visitors can see it so better to set the site temp offline (if possible)

of add an adittional code
<?php
if (JFactory::getUser()->authorise('core.manage')) {

var_dump($this->params);
}
?>

Hm, it's a bit strange. In the raw part of the parameter object, the parameter is there and set to 1. In the registry part, though, it is set to 0.

Cheers, Stefan

P.S.: Running a local server for dev, so no security issues here ;)

Ungh ... so it IS the blonde version! The option is disabled in the menu entry. Sorry for the trouble and thanks again.
