Stop emails after every event addition 7 years 8 months ago #9391

o. till sending emails. I know there will be some way of doing it, but maybe I'll need to hack the code. Just seems odd that "Send emails" is set to "No" but it still sends them.

You're thinking is right: no should be no.

As receiving unwanted emails is very annoying I'll take a look at it before next weekend or earlier.

well, did take a look but can't give a clear answer at the moment.

Did try to replicate the problem but over here it's not sending mail, but
i'm having some problems using the mail function :(.. Did also try it with JEM but did not get any mail. ah well, maybe i'm doing something wrong so will try it this weekend again.

something you can try is:

- go to: com_eventlist/controller.php
- find function "saveevent()"
- find the line
$res = $dispatcher->trigger('onEventEdited', array($returnid, $isNew));

put two // for that line so it will be something like
// $res = $dispatcher->trigger('onEventEdited', array($returnid, $isNew));

This makes sure that the mails for saving an event are not being send.
since the trigger is not happening.

It's better if the disabling was working but well you can try the above and see if that helps a bit. It's also for the frontend, hmm are you gettings mails also when adding events in the backend?.

or you could disable the plugin completely just to see if disabling it is indeed stopping the mails, if so the problem has to be within the plugin.
