Well people,.

I've been thinking about making the eventlist v1.1 to work under Joomla 2.5 and i don't think that that will be a big problem by now. As i did adapt a lot of files of v1.1 to make it work under J2.5. The query's of categories will be different and some tables, but i can be done. But just don't know if it's worth the hassle & time.

I am using Joomla 2.5 and EL 1.0.2 with hacks. I studied the EL 1.1 a little. With the adaptions you're preparing for 1.0.2 I see no worth to adapt 1.1. The only thing perhaps is the "multiple categories" thing. (I think after finishing the JEM 2.5.0.1, I would concentrate the forces to go with JEM to Joomla 3.0)

EDIT:
Perhaps it needs a documentation or help how to update from EL 1.1 to JEM 2.5.
on JEM 2.3.0 stable in latest Joomla (3.9.22) Protostar php7.4.5

jojo is right. I don't see any sense to work on a second project. v1.1 users should be able to upgrade to the new JEM, though.

:) thx for the feedback and won't convert the clean package of eventlist v1.1 at this moment. But i'll give the multiple categories a try.

For people who are wondering what for package i'm using:
The package is a modified package of evenlist v1.02 with stuff of v1.1 and some additional switches.

It includes the
- ics output
- calendar
- gmap
- new icon package (you can find it the forum)
- altered backend view settings
- menu links
- attendees (+waitinglist)
- search view
- excluded category's
- import & export function
(working in Excel and with special characters)
- running error-free with development output turned on (joomla)

so basicly a lot has been converted but will wait till the official repository is being set-up to post the changes. I think that the only thing missing is the multiple cat thing.

Also the script has to be cleaned, tested, and perhaps i'm having a lot of errors or did forget stuff.

//
There indeed should be a good tutorial about how to update/upgrade to J2.5

Well,

have been altering/modifying the v1.1 some more and it's seems to be running. The reason for it was the mutli-cat things & parent category thing.

There was a message about it and decided to test that, also cause i was running into errors trying to integrate the stuff of v1.02 into v1.1. So did it the otherway.

You can see how it looks like in the attachments..
-->Will post the changed files at github
(it's not the folder JEM-DEV)

hmm things are getting complicated like this (having two versions) and probably better to choose one of them, but the code is there so will post it after some more alterations.

Be aware:
- the code can containg bugs as it's an altered version of v1.1 and did not convert everything (yet).
- the installer is the normal v1.1 installer script. It is looking for other versions and will convert things, so look out!.
- The installer can't move the plugins, seems to be something wrong in the code. not sure have to find out. so not sure if the plugins are working.. A plugin like the mail plugin probably have to be altered to..
- the code does support multi-cats & parent category's
- there is an calendar
- recurrence is working

!! don't use it with a live website, but wait till it's finshed !!

So happy easter everyone,....

The code is posted at:
github.com/jemproject/JEM-11CONVERTVERSION

Be aware it is test version and has to be altered more.

One of the things missing are the plugins and if you run into something: let it now. The plugins are in J1.5 format and have to be altered.
