Someone in the old forum developed Mod_eventlist_ext that was compatible with Joomla 1.5, which worked like the mod_eventlist module but with additional options to display variables like the City and State instead of the Venue or Event name. That works better for me.

I was wondering if anyone knows whether it has been converted for use on Joomla 2.5?

Have a good day, everyone!

hi Kathe,.

to aswer the question:
no, this has not be done (as far i know)

But if you want it i'm willing to take a look at it, but
it will take a few days and can be ready next week.. As it worked in Joomla v1.5 it won't be that difficult, just a matter of altering some code.

Wow, are you serious? That would be amazing! How can I thank you? I've looked around at other components but Eventlist is still the one that I would prefer to use if I had the choice.

I am uploading the mod_eventlist_ext.zip file so you can take a look at it.

hi Kathe,.

Did take a look at it and have been able to convert things.
The new package is not for download (yet) cause i want to check and alter some of the code but it will be here this week.

In the attachment you're seeing how it looks like in Joomla 2.5 and with eventlist v1.02..

///
There are a few things left to do:
- check if the settings are working
- alter language strings
- the code for venue does not seems to be working correctly when there is no url applied for it. It's pointing to the index.
- i guess the venue links needs to point to a new blank page instead of the _self target.
- there were a few typo's in the php file (did correct them)

Bluefox, I am so grateful. That is SO amazing!!! That looks like it'll be great! I'll give you a screencap of the way I currently have it configured in case it's useful. The date is linked to the event detail page.

I wish I could offer to help but I (obviously) am not a coder! :blush:

Thank you again for this!

hi Kathe,.

As an attachment you can find the module. If there is anything to improve: let it know :). The Venueurl thing has to be altered some more, but wanted to post the package as it is at the moment.

// just some background info
Basically it's the same as the Joomla 1.5 module:
- the language strings have been altered (it's using COM_EVENTLIST)
- the xml file was altered to show up the options
- the query within the helper.php is changed, is was checking for "aid", but eventlist v1.02 is using "gid"
